As of July 1st 2021, Microsoft Business Central customers that require database storage capacity beyond the 80 GB inherent with each cloud instance can now purchase additional capacity. Even more exciting is a pricing restructure that can mean big savings for your organisation.
So what’s new?
Business Central Database Capacity addon price is reduced from USD $40 to USD $10/1GB/tenant/month.
New offer: Business Central Database Capacity 100 gives users that sign up for a special price of USD $500 for 100GB of additional capacity per tenant per month.
As part of the above offer Business Central Database Capacity Overage will be charged as USD $5 per 1GB per tenant per month (pre-requirement of Business Central Database Capacity 100)
Added default database capacity entitlements per user licenses are as follows:
- Business Central Essentials license entitles you to an additional 2GB/user
- Business Central Premium entitles you to an additional 3GB/user
- Business Central Device entitles you to an additional 1GB/device
Default capacities for your Cloud based Business Central Tenant is as follows:
- You will get 80GB per tenant across all your environments
- Each tenancy allows you 1 Live Environment and up to 3 Sandboxes.
- You will now get an additional capacity per user!
- Business Central Essentials license entitles you to an additional 2GB/user
- Business Central Premium entitles you to an additional 3GB/user
- Business Central Device entitles you to an additional 1GB/device

The Capacity Page within Business Central page provides an overview of the total database and file storage usage, with details about the storage used by every environment. The page also displays the currently used and the maximum allowed number of production and sandbox environments available to you.
